The Killing of Jayland Walker: Eight Akron Police Officers Will Not Face Charges

On June 27, 2022, at approximately 12:30 a.m., Akron, Ohio, police officers shot and killed Jayland Walker, a 25-year-old American from Akron.
A grand jury in Ohio has decided not to charge eight Akron police officers in the death of Jayland Walker, a Black man who was fatally shot by the police. The police chief in Akron, Ohio, said Jayland Walker was fatally shot by officers after fleeing a traffic stop.
Video of the shooting has left many questions and outrage in Akron. The eight police officers who shot and killed Jayland Walker have not been charged with any crimes.
